Namaste Pay, a fast-growing digital wallet service jointly promoted by Nepal Telecom and Rastriya Banijya Bank, has been awarded the Most Innovative Digital Wallets Deployment at the fourth edition of the IBS Intelligence Global FinTech Innovation Awards 2023.
The award comes in line to the continuous efforts of Nepal Digital Payments Company Limited in making Namaste Pay an innovative wallet service provider in the fintech landscape of Nepal and from the day of its inception Namaste Pay has dedicatedly tried to bring innovative solutions to cater to the needs of the Nepali consumer base.
With the introduction of a real time offline payment solution through the USSD channel, a customer can have access to wallet services offline by dialing *500# which has revolutionized the payment industry in Nepal and has open access to digital finance for consumers who may not be connected to internet while performing their digital transaction.
The event held in Mumbai was organized by International Banking Systems (IBS) Intelligence (IBSi), a UK-based company that was founded in 1991.
IBSi is the only pure-play financial technology (traditional and new-age) research, advisory, and media company in the world, with global coverage and a 360° portfolio of intelligence offerings.
Mr. Binaya Bijukchhe, DCEO of Nepal Digital Payments Company Limited, accepted the award at the function.
Mr. Prabin Raj Pokharel, CEO of Nepal Digital Payments Company Limited (NDPC), expressed his happiness over receiving the prestigious global award.
Pokharel added, “with this recognition, we also feel that our responsibility has increased towards creating a cashless society, by providing modern services not only to the banked and digitally educated people but also to the unbanked masses to bring about true financial inclusion.”
