Indians can now make direct shopping payments in Nepal through PhonePe

काठमाडौं ।

Indian fintech company PhonePe has introduced a new service for its users to make payments abroad.

On Tuesday, the payment app said that phone users can make payments using the unified payment interface system at international outlets in five countries including Nepal, United Arab Emirates, and Singapore.

The company said in a statement that PhonePe users can make payments in foreign currencies directly from their Indian banks. This payment can be made in the same way as by international debit card. The company, which provides digital payment facilities, has now introduced this service for five countries.

PhonePe has implemented international payment services in Nepal, UAE, Singapore, Mauritius and Bhutan. This service is the QR code of all international merchant outlets. PhonePe is the first fintech app to launch this feature in India. The company has over 435 million registered users in India.

If someone comes to Nepal from India or goes to another country, even if they have to use the currency of that country for payment, now they can make payments in five countries using PhonePe’s ‘UPI International’ service. No need to exchange Indian currency for this.

Rahul Chari, CTO and co-founder of PhonePe said that this service will be expanded to other countries in the coming days. The company plans to bring it to more countries.

If an Indian is visiting UAE, Singapore, Mauritius, Nepal and Bhutan, he can easily purchase goods and services through PhonePe’s UPI international service. The company said that even if there is no foreign currency, goods can be purchased according to their convenience. Which is said to be easy for Indian tourists.
