Two-day Digital Rights School has been organized on the 7th and 8th of Paush with the aim of imparting information about the various dimensions of digital rights and digital security in the context of increasing Internet usage and enhancing capacity.
Digital Rights School was organized for the first time in Nepal with 25 participants including journalists, students, representatives of the private and government sector and civil society, said Tankraj Aryal, Secretary General of Digital Rights Nepal and Coordinator of Digital Rights School.
In the Digital Rights School, the basic topics of digital rights, online freedom of expression, online privacy, digital inclusion and connectivity, data privacy and protection, digital security, internet governance and wrong, misleading information and hate speech were discussed.
In different sessions of Digital Rights School, experts from Nepal, Tankraj Aryal, Santosh Sigdel, Rukmani Maharjan, Deepak Adhikari and Satish Babu and Ashraful Haque from India and Bangladesh gave presentations on various aspects of digital rights and security.
The participants said that the school was very useful in terms of learning about various aspects of digital rights and digital security.
Santosh Sigdel, President of Digital Rights Nepal, said that the Digital Rights School is useful for informing the participants about various issues of digital rights in Nepal and it is planned to organize it in all seven provinces of the country with the aim of providing information about digital rights and digital security.
