Now, consumers of electricity from Butwal Power Company (BPC) can now pay their electricity bill from Khalti Digital Wallet App. BPC has been distributing electricity in Waling, Galyang, Rampur and Jhimruk areas of Syangja.
To make the payment, a new section named “Community Based Electricity” has been added under utility payments. It is on the home screen of Khalti. BPC will be inside this section. It will show the payable amount after one enters the bill payment counter, Customer ID and customer number of Butwal Power Company. The customer can pay the amount directly from the App loading money in the app or directly from their bank account after linking it to Khalti.
Customers will be able to pay the electricity tariff both in advance and late. The remaining three months to pay the bill is visible.
After the contract signing, Mr. Bhurtel said, “This collaboration will now free BPC users from the need to visit counters walking or travelling miles and miles of distance. Making the payment possible in both rural and urban areas is a huge milestone for us too. This will surely contribute greatly to our Digital Nepal campaign.”
As part of the first phase, among the four distributing counters, Waling, Galyang, Rampur is live. However, Jhimruk counter will be live in the second phase.
